The scheme is set to save an estimated 110,000 tonnes of CO2 over 40 years - that’s the equivalent of taking 55,000 cars off the road. This means a reduction in the use of gas, lower emissions, and better air quality for Hull.

Heat networks are a cost effective way to decarbonise heat and hot water when compared to fossil fuel solutions or other low-carbon options. Save money and demonstrate your dedication to carbon reduction or ESG targets.

Stable and predictable

Local heat, generated in Hull, will be less impacted by fluctuating prices in the global energy market. Plus, heat networks are now regulated by OFGEM. Therefore, Hull Heat Network customers will benefit from price protections.

Reliable

Connected buildings take heat and hot water directly from the network, providing an instant, reliable and near unlimited supply. The scheme also utilises a gas boiler as a back-up and to deal with fluctuating demand.

Reduced operational costs

Heat networks avoid the need for individual boilers or electric heaters to be installed in individual buildings, reducing maintenance time and costs.

Thanks to its modular design, the network has huge potential for expansion, creating opportunities for new connections across Hull and meeting the energy needs of the city.

Customer support

The Hull Heat Network will have responsibility to operate and maintain the network and have a team of customer support experts on hand to support with any issues.

£2 million investment into local community

The Hull Heat Network is set to create long-lasting economic and social benefits for the city of Hull through utilisation of local supply chain, 25 local school and college engagement sessions, 12 apprenticeship awareness sessions, 3 work placements, 4 apprenticeship opportunities and 20 volunteering sessions.
