Current works

The Hull Heat Network is currently under construction, with works underway on both the Energy Centre and pipe network

The network will include the installation of between 2 and 4 pipes, creating a flow-and-return system that will distribute hot water from the Energy Centre to connected buildings to provide heating and hot water.

Initially, the Energy Centre will heat the water using a combination of air source and water source heat pumps. Work is also ongoing to secure suppliers of waste heat to decrease carbon emissions. To minimise disruption for road users and pedestrians, Hull Heat Network construction works are being coordinated with other city centre projects.

The Energy Centre
Construction of the Energy Centre, located on the former Trippett Street Car Park, is progressing well. The flue and thermal stores are due to be delivered at the end of July. Once completed, the Energy Centre is expected to be operational by mid-2027.
