Why connect to the Hull Heat Network

Local heat, generated in Hull, is more reliable and less impacted by the volatile global energy market. Public and private sector organisations have decarbonisation targets to meet, and the introduction of district heat provides them with an affordable, reliable way to work towards them, including -

  • benefiting from reliable heat with stable pricing and reduced operational costs
  • demonstrating your organisation’s progress to carbon reduction goals or ESG targets
  • playing your part in a cleaner, healthier Hull

Scheme benefits

Hull is taking a new approach to the way heat is supplied across the city centre. By generating heat locally, the network offers a reliable energy source that is less vulnerable to the volatility of global energy markets, helping to strengthen local energy resilience. For businesses, public sector organisations and community facilities, it provides an affordable and practical route to reducing carbon emissions while supporting wider ambitions for a greener, more sustainable future. By connecting to the network, organisations can play an active role in shaping Hull's energy future while benefiting from secure, dependable heat.

Connecting is easy

  1. A member of the Hull Heat Network team will arrange a meeting with you (virtually or in-person) to discuss your energy needs
  2. We’ll produce a bespoke outline design, comparison document and commercial offer for you to consider
  3. If you’re happy to proceed, our technical team will work with you to design a connection proposal that meets your requirements and agree to a Head of Terms
  4. We’ll work alongside you to produce a detailed design and legal agreement (CSA)
  5. Once this is signed, we can begin construction and connect your building to the Hull Heat Network
  6. We’ll conduct final checks and ensure you are satisfied before signing off the works

Connections can be considered during the development phase of a project, during construction or refurbishment, or they can replace the current heating systems in existing buildings (even old or historical buildings).

Get in contact today to discuss the opportunity of connecting, so you too can benefit from our heat network.
